Is spiderwire really all that good or are there better brands of line?
I have 10 pound spiderwire mono line rite now but im thinking about getting braided line..is there anythign out there better then spiderwire?
This in truth all comes down to what each angler likes, ive tried spider wire on a few occasions and although its not too bad i felt that it lacked the quality it should have had for the price, power pro is a good option, especially if you fish saltwater, but i also like stren microfuse braided lines along with berkley fireline, try and give each one a go if you know someone who fishes with each one have a try of them and see which one works best for you.
Filling a micro fishing reel with 50lb spiderwire?
Heyy so I have this shakespeare micro-spinning rod and reel. I was wondering if it would still work fine if I filled it with 50 lb spiderwire. The spiderwire is a braided line that is equal to the width of 12 lb mono line.
I already have the 50lb for another reel that I use. Its very thin line. I fish for bass.
I have it on my shakespeare president and it is fine, although I am upgrading it now to firewire as it is coated and does less damage to the top eye.

What are Pro and Cons of Spiderwire EZ Braid?
I bought some 10lb, and it seems easy to cast, but I found it can break easily in some cases, would like to know what other people feel about it, I may just go back to mono.
Braid Pro- Braid has virtually no stretch thereby signaling a strike easier to your hands. Braid has a lower "diameter" (VS Mono or Fluro) allowing anglers to fish with a line that is MUCH less easier for the fish to see, (3lb diameter with the strength of 8-10 LB Mono). Braid has no "memory" which eliminates many problems with "birds nest's".
It lasts a LONG time and rarely needs changing. It is perfectly designed for any type of bottom-fishing.
Braids con's- It is not as "invisible" as Fluorocarbon. Because of the lower diameter it is easier to cut, (in most cases). It's expensive.
I mostly use Braid on my Spinning outfit's, (in conjunction with a Fluro leader). Because of it's lower diameter, Braid tends to sink quicker in the water column allowing lures to reach the desired depth you wish faster.
5-8 years ago Braid was the "it" line but since many line company's have "refined" their Fluorocarbon, (Many better/more expensive fluro lines have almost all the properties of a braid except "strength to diameter" ratio), anglers are now slowly converting back to Fluro.
In my opinion, braid will always have a place on one or more of my reels. I currently have 4 reels spooled with it.
Try using it in conjunction with a Fluro leader- that is the best of all worlds.
Hope this helps? Good fishing.
(Thumbs up to MG. Great answer.)

How to spool a reel with SpiderWire's braided line. 20#?
I am using SpiderWire's braided line. 20#
Am I suppose to apply cloth tape on the inside before beginning to spool my reel?
Any additional tips would be nice.
Use any monofilament for backing, tie spiderwire onto mono using uni-uni knot and fill spool. Use a drop of superglue on your knot. You need only to use 1 1/2 long casts worth of your braided line. This will save you money and enough line line to fill a couple extra spools on other reels.

im going to put spiderwire on my reel, should i put a little monofilament on there as well?
i read on basspro.com that when your using braided line, that you should tie some monofilament on there as well for smooth casting.
what does this mean? where do i tie the monofilament too, the reel, or the end of the braided line?
The only thing I can come up with is backing, which is line (monofilent or?) that is put on before your braided line or usin' as a leader. Now where that make it a smoother cast I do not know. What type reel are ya' usin', level-wind (baitcaster) or spinning. The only time I use braided line is on my level-wind reels with top water lures (it floats) and is STRONG for when your in brush etc..
