what is the different spinning, spin casting, and bait casting combo for fishing rod?

well, it my first time planing on fishing, but dont really know what kind of rod suppost to get.. spin casting sound good..

A' spincast/closed face combo would be the best bet especially with ya' just startin' out, plus their generally le$$ expensive than other set-ups. Baitcasters/level-winds can be a' bit more complicated when it comes ta' castin' them, along with the various adjustments, (drag, brake settins', etc.) and most importantly the use of ones thumb to control the line spool. Whereas with the spincast it's just simply the pushin' in of the button and then releasing it to cast. Hope I've helped a' bit;)...

Difference between bait casting rods and spin casting rods?

I see these all the time, but what is really the difference? I use my uglystik for both bait and spinning? What makes them better for each?

the line guides

What is the difference between a spinning rod and a casting rod??

Spinning rods are designed to have progressively larger eyes on the guides as you go from tip to handle. The larger "stripper" guide (the one closest to the handle/grip) is necessary because spinning reels release line in a round coil. This coil, if restricted, will come off the spool slower, causing shorter casting ability. The larger eye on that first guide lets line off naturally at first, and then the progressively smaller guides tighten the coil gradually allowing the line to flow from the tip guide smoothly and uncoiled.

Casting rods have almost no progression in guide eye size. The reason being that line from a casting reel comes off straight, not coiled. Therefore, there is no restriction caused by the line, and the line will flow straight from the reel through the tip guide.

Casting reels mount on the "top" of the casting rod.

Spinning reels mount on the "bottom" of the spinning reel.

Both types can be made with the same materials (fiberglass, graphite, composite...etc), handle composition (EVA foam, cork, graphite), and guide materials (ceramic, steel, titainium...etc).

is there a difference between bait caster and spin casting rods?

so i bought a bait cater i know how to cast it it just wont go far i took the rod off my spin caster and just put in on the bait caster is there a difference between them like some rods have the same size holes where the line goes through but other are different and if any one can get me a sight where it teaches you how to bait cast that would help im new to bait casting oh what are good baits to use on a bait caster btw my pole is 5ft6in should i get like a 7 foot one

Airflow smokes as usual

How to cast a baicaster:
you hold your thumb on the spool with the bait about five inches from the end you hold the butt of the rod with your off hand and you very comfortably bring the rod tip overhead from away to toward the target you are casting too push the button witch disengages the spool and easily bring it (rod and now swinging bait) forward. (I used to teach casting for the fish and game) the real need is to know when to let go of the spool so the weight of your bait takes the line out to the target. Try this, stick you index finger outlike it's an imaginary pistol while holding the rod and reel (your thumb still holding the reel spool. As you bring your hands over your head in the a classical casting motion have that index finger pointing out and as it comes to the point where it is pointing straight at your target ease your thumb off right exactly then. Now pay attention start by casting a Jax ball or a tennis ball and start by casting 20 feet and when you get great go to 30 feet and increase with your ability as you master the distances. Now pay attention! you have got to watchyour line with a baitcaster (HAVE TO) you have to stop the spool with your thumb at the exact timthe bait (or practice ball) touches something, water (grass if you are practicing at a school or a park) but when the bait stops the reel doesn't and that you are in control of never take your concentration off the bait and it's getting where it's going if you do and it lands and you don't stop the spool..... BACKLASH! It gets so easy you will be abale yo land baits in bucket from 20 30 40 50 even 60 feet.
I hope you all enjoyed this lesson in casting a baitcaster.

B T W all baits are castable on a baitcaster but the little itsy bitsy finesse baits as they aren't heavy enough (because of the friction involved) to un roll the spool and allow any distance to the cast.

My rule of thumb is under an 1/8 ounce too light.

whats the difference between a casting rod and a spinning rod?

On a casting rod, the reel has the spool perpendicular to the rod, and is attatched above the rod handle. The spool turns to take up line. On a spinning rod, the reel has the spool facing the same direction as the rod, and is attatched under the rod handle. The spool does not move, and the line is wound upon it by means of a bail that rotates around the spool.
