i am the activities organizer for the church that i attend. the kids wants to build a float for the parade but we have a seriously restricted budget. the theme of the parade is: tis the season for winder and christmas fun. can anyone help me out? please!!!!!!!
what i want to create is some kids building a snowman (with fake snow--like cotton or something) and some more kids having a snowball fight. i have around 20-25 kids to work with.
You wouldn't really want the kids to be throwing things or moving around very much on the float. How about if you have them sit waving to the crowd in their scarves, hats and mittens, with a white dropcloth underneath and on the rails of the truck, and a snowman backdrop made from white dropcloth stapled to plywood?

Plans For Our Next Tea Party
At our meeting on Saturday we decided to move forward with putting a float in the Wyo Rodeo Parade, Friday, July 9th and also with a picnic in the park on July 10th. CLICK HERE to download the handout from our meeting. Both of these events will require a lot of planning and a lot of volunteers. Please read through the following and email me if there's an area where you would like to help. Please also let me know if you can help with the planning and the actual event days, or only with one or the other. Our next organizing meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the dining room of the Sheridan Senior Center.
NEEDS FOR THE PARADE:
People to brainstorm float ideas. This year's theme is "You can bet on it!"
A flatbed trailer to build the float on
A large indoor area within the Sheridan area to store the float overnight and possibly to build it in if the weather is not cooperating
Volunteers to build the float
Volunteers to ride the float (if we need riders for our theme)
Volunteers to walk with the float with Tea Party protest signs
Volunteers to walk along with the float and hand out picnic flyers
We will also need float-building supplies such as skirting, possibly a large American flag, maybe Revolutionary War era themed clothing
NEEDS FOR OUR PICNIC
A person to chair the food committee and 5-10 people to work on that committee. People on this committee will decide whether or not we will provide food, how we will provide it and how we will serve it on the day of the event. If you are willing to donate towards the food with either money or with actual supplies, please let me know as well.
5-10 people to help on the day of the event, with running child-related activities and games. Shirley Brown has graciously offered to chair this committee but she will definitely need a lot of help at the picnic. If you would like to help...
