Gap Worm Hook

Answers

Which Worm Hook do you prefear?

1. Offset Extra Wide Gap (EWG)
2. G-Lock Worm
3. Offset Worm Hook
4. Straight shank Worm Hook Round Bend (no offset)
This is in reference to using "PLASTIC" worms and not night crawlers.
I exclusively use EWG hooks and never any bigger than a 5/0, even with 10 or 12" worms
I have never experienced my worms twisting, maybe because the EWG acts like a keel and keeps it from spinning.

I think they all have there own specific applications. I like the wide gaps for most thick bodied plastics and the offset hooks for thin bodied worms. I like G-locks for tubes and straight shanks for finessing or drop shot. They all have a job to do, pick one for the right job and get more solid hook sets.

Wacky Rigged worm hooks?

what kind of hooks should i use to make a worm Wacky?

Wacky Rigged worm hooks?
I just use a 1/0 EWG (extra wide gap) worm hook.

They do make %26quot; O%26quot; rigs and a tool to put them over your bait so you get more strikes per bait.
Reply:Asked for in my shops was the owner mosquito hook in size 4 to 6,Circle hooks(eagle claw lightwire) in size 2 to 6 and a few others but they were mainly short shank style hooks!
Reply:You can use any type of worm hook that you have in your box or bag. Due to the fact that the hook is exposed when you rig it wacky.

If you are fishing around alot of cover I would suggest using a hook it is called a Pork-O hook it has a wire weed guard that hooks to the barb of the hook. Great hook for wacky rigging.

Good Luck
