Lakers!!!!?

how far do u think the lakers could go this year. they look pretty good this year.

probably second round of the play-offs, they are a good team but there are better teams then them

How can Lakers win a championship when they dwindled a 19 points lead to a 3 point win?

How the f* can Lakers be so defenseless when Okur and AK47 to shoot WIDE open 3s to close the gap in the late 4ths?

Do they even learn from their retarded mistakes? They should have learned from Game 1 and Game 2 that Jazz is going to make a surge yet Lakers still make the same s*it over and over again.
All I am saying is why do Lakers make the game more difficult than they are?

The Lakers made mistakes.

- First, Phil Jackson pulled Kobe, Fisher and Gasol to the bench too early thinking the Jazz have too much of a bad night leaving guys like Sasha and Walton on the floor stumbling turnovers quickly. Williams, Boozer and Millsap realized the situation and stepped up their play trimming the lead that made the Lakers take two quick timeouts in a span of a couple of minutes. Even when he quickly putted Kobe, Gasol and Fisher back, the Jazz have momentum maintained te rally.

- They are leaving players with wide looks behind the 3 point line. They can't afford to do that especially late in the game. They should have known that, other than Boozer and Millsap, the other regular rotation guys can all shoot threes. They left Kirilenko wide open TWICE!

If they didn't build a huge lead early and missed their late free throws, they would have lost the game. If they want to win the championship, they should learn from these mistakes and not get too comfy and underestimate opponents.

If the Lakers had Andrew Bynum healthy at the start of the Finals, how different would things be?

I personally think the Lakers would have taken the series in 5 games if Bynum were healthy, but I want to hear your opinion.

The series would be over with LA winning. Bynum was a beast before the injury, and he's a definite improvement over Vladimir Radmanovic.

Here would be their starting lineup:
PG - Fisher
SG - Bryant
SF - Odom (huge mismatch because of his length)
PF - Gasol (ditto)
C - Bynum

What do the Lakers need to do next year in order to win a championship?

I think they need to trade Lamar Odom because I don't he has the toughness that they need in order to win a championship. And you can't depend on him to help the Lakers win Kobe is getting triple-teamed. I feel like with a new tough small forward and Andrew back next year the Lakers should be back in the Finals again.

Obviously Bynum needs to be more aggressive, but Gasoft, I mean Gosol needs to get tougher as well. They need a stronger defense and more consistency with some of their players, Odom, Vujacic (sorry if I butcher the names), Walton, Turiaf, and even Farmar. What gets so frustrating is that sometimes these guys show up and sometimes they do not. There is a difference between having an off game and not showing up for stretches. I love the Lakers...lifelong fan, however the Celtics defense was almost perfection. They may have just wanted it more, after 21 years without a championship, plus their pick and roll gave the Lakers a run for the money. Kobe is the best player all around, but he needs more stronger players surrounding him. Some of the guys around him have never made it this far in their careers. The Celts just had more veterans and experience. And they have the best defensive team all around. A stronger defense will out win a strong offense. I would love to say that if only Kobe would have gotten to the paint more, would they had the championship, but again the Celts had an amazing defense. Something many teams in the NBA need to study. They were just the better team this time around. I am expecting the Lakers to make it back to the finals next year. They just need some tuning up and Kobe and Phil should be able to get it done. I also must give props to Fisher, at least we can count on him to show up consistently. Plus a more consistent defense. Long Live the Lakers!!!!!!!!

How have the Lakers managed to stay so good?

Going back to the 80's, the lakers have maange to be a palyoff team almost every year for the last 28 years. Teams like the Celtics and bulls all hit rock bottom after their stars left. Lakers still have a good team after Magic, Kareem, and Worthy left and before Shaq and Kobe were together.

The Buss family, Jerry West (when he was employed at the Lakers orgainization) and Mitch Kupchak have done an excellent job on scouting young talent. For example, Kobe (an unproven highschool player) was the 13th pick of the 1996 draft and the Lakers had the foresight and courage to trade a proven tier 2 center in Vlade Divac for him. Now, Kobe is one of the best -- and, in my opinion, the best -- player in the league. Additionally, when Shaq wanted 20 + million dollars a year, the Lakers made the right decision in getting trade value for him (which has essentially resulted in Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom for Shaq in 4 years). Now, Phoenix is saddled with a herculean contract for a player who would be considered to play well just to average 10 points and 10 rebounds this season. Granted, there may have been some luck on the Lakers' organization's side, but - as the proverbial saying goes: "luck is the residue of hard work." In short, the Lakers earned their position as an elite organization through great drafting, scouting, and trading. Critics, and even fans, have sometimes scrutinized the Lakers' decisions, but -- all in all -- the Lakers have been the hallmark organization of the NBA (even more so than Boston) because they have consistently been great for so many years.

How come nobody is talking about the Lakers?

How come nobody is giving the Lakers a shot at the championship? Everyone talks about all of the other teams, except the Lakers. What do the Lakers need to do to get a little love? Personally, I think they have a pretty darn good team, and are a legitimate contender for the championship. Maybe not the favorite, but definitely in the conversation.
Wow, I didn't realize their were so many Lakers fans on YA! Where have you guys been hiding?

wow, Corey, it never ceases to amaze me how many times you lead the pigeons to the trap. And they keep going to it. Now you see why they all can be brainwashed so easily ( repeat 'kobe' three times is about all it takes) I wonder if there is actually a mentally-challenged rule book for them to see what their answers to certain questions should be.

and check out that use of the english? language above me "dey' 'dat' 'dis' 'wit'......this is the future!

let's keep it between us, because they can't remember ( or weren't born yet) that far back, but the lakers were supposedly a lock to win it all last year too. I sense a mass suicide at a half-pipe playground in la sometime in mid june..........
