she walks everyday. She does have a health condition. Birth defect: trouble swallowing. Can eat food with no problems but chokes on water. Lives off of ice chunks. Has regular vet visits. Just had her with her parents and brother. All 3 are close to 100. She is about 50-60. We also have a poode that is 10. Worry about her getting too fat at the same time.

My Labrador is about the same size, and weighs 98-101 lbs. I'm pretty sure that weight's ok. My vet told us to watch his weight though, to keep it in check. Maybe you'd want to check to see if you should decrease his feeding or something. Just call your vet.

I was reading something about Nicole Richie, and apparently she weights roughly the same as a golden retreiver, or a plasma TV. Is there a website that will take your weight and tell you what objects you weigh the same as?
Oh, and I'm 104. What could that be?

She eats alot but I have noticed she is losing weight any suggestions.

Post-surgery abnormalities should warrant a vet call. Better to err on the side of caution.

i have a 13 yr old dog (was 65 pounds) and she eats 4.5 cups of dry food and 1 can of food per day and she is losing weight. (now 55 pounds and dropping) she is not very active. will old age cause this? she is rottweiller, lab, retreiver cross

Could be worms, but doubtful-Since she is an older dog I would go to the vet. Sometimes serious illnesses strike dogs at an older age- Not to scare you but many cancers have weight loss as the first symptom. Especially if she is still eating. Vet time. Good Luck.

I'm tired of buying cat food and having the dog eat it. Why not just feed him the cat food? He's not overweight. I'd like to put the bowls on the floor for the cats and dog. Separating the cats is difficult. If weight isn't the issue and the cats like the cat food then why not? The dog is a Labrador Retreiver.

Dog food is for dogs, cat food for cats...they aren't interchangable. Dogs and cats have different nutritional requirements. Dogs fed soley cat food can end up with blindness, kidney disease and other issues. Cats fed dog food exclusively can end up with very serious health issues as well including taurine deficiency.
Also your dog should NOT be free fed. He should be fed at schedualed times of the day. This is important in case there is ever an issue and you need to know what your dog has eaten and the amount.

It is very easy to feed a cat away from a dog simply put cat food in an area that the dog can't access, such as on a table, counter, washer/dryer, etc.
